Project Status: On-going management

Location: Becker, MN

Project Description: Old hay field with high and low areas

Total acres managed: 15.25 acres

Goal:

• Create more wildlife viewing/hunting opportunities

• Build plant diversity

• Reduce soil erosion

• Reestablish a healthy ecosystem

• Improve the overall property appearance

• Increase privacy from bordering properties and roadway

Timeline:

• Area was prepped Fall 2022 - Summer 2023

• Select tree removal Winter 2022

• Planted August 2023

• Planted trees Spring 2023

Results:

• Significant increase in wildlife activity, including owls, red fox, turkey, deer, and pheasants.

• Prairie established well
